HOLIDAY SERVICE PROJECT
2018 Holiday Project
Thank you for your interest in supporting our adopted families this year. This is a link to the sign-up form for purchasing gifts and family needs.
All items need to be returned to school no later than WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 19TH for delivery. We can provide tax receipts (though I am not sure the value for this tax year with changes) for total purchases or donations over $50. Thank you to all the families and students in the Rendezvous classes of Dehn and Montplaisir who participated in this year's holiday service project. Despite the snow and ice, we successfully provided complete holiday giving for three families in our own building's boundary area. These families will not be receiving any other agency's assistance. We were able to provide clothing, shoes, jackets, gifts, hygiene items, and an entire stocking full of goodies for each child. Each family also received gift cards for groceries and additional gift cards for family activities including Build-A-Bear and Regal Cinemas. We also provided three mattresses and bedding for a refugee family new to this country whose kids are currently sleeping on the floor. As I have told students, this project brings me more joy this holiday season than anything else I get to participate in. I hope your family also enjoyed the opportunity to help others. I will be sending tax-deduction receipts out in February, if I received receipt or cash/check donation. For those of you who wrote checks, the money was spent entirely on mattresses, clothing, bedding, and fill-in gift items. Those checks are safe but will not clear until January when the bookkeeper returns.
